Patan  is the third largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu and Pokhara  and it is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley in the Lalitpur district. It is best known for its rich cultural heritage particularly its tradition of arts and crafts in metal and woodwork. It is called city of festival and feast, fine ancient art, making of metallic and stone carving statue.Many of the exotic temples in Patan’s Durbar Square date back to the 17th century. Listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site you will discover Krishna Mandir temple and Bhimsen Temple among others. You will explore the network of alleys and courtyards where Patan’s skilled artisans create religious Thangka paintings, statues and wood carvings.The Palace museum is probably the best in Nepal.

After breakfast your tour guide will meet you at the hotel and you will drive in a private car through the hectic traffic from Kathmandu across the Bagmati River to the city of Patan, that confusingly is also known as Lalitpur. Vehicles are not allowed into the heart of the city so your guide will walk you through the alleys and small streets to explore this historic city. After visiting the museum you will return to Kathmandu in time for lunch.
